One of the smaller genus with about 15 species.  This
genus is related to Paphiopedilum and Cypripedium, but
these species are relatively large.  Found in Mexico,
Bolivia, and Brazil, these species are mainly grown in
moist areas with shady conditions at a range of altitudes.
Phramipedium prefer more light and more water than
Paphiopedilum.  Year around watering, semi-shade, and
humidity is required with these species.
